Creating for Creation’s Sake

In July 2025, having just completed my Bachelor’s degree, I found myself by lake Starnberg, spending the day relaxing, doodling, and filling the pages of my journal. Somewhere between a sketch and a daydream, I felt a sudden burst of inspiration- after the first years of studying and working, I wanted to create something.

What began as a few spontaneous drawings quickly turned into the designs for the handbags shown below. I sketched freely and edited without mercy, until it felt right.

A week later, I approached Anna, who handcrafts bags in her atelier on a parallel street from the açaí shop where I worked, in Munich’s Maxvorstadt. Together, we carefully (with ‘meraki’) selected leathers, colors, and zips, bringing the designs from paper into reality.

Since then, these bags have accompanied my closest people and me as travel pouches, cable and headphone organizers, evening bags, and everyday companions for carrying the essentials.

I have always liked being creative for its own sake. I love experiencing the result of curiosity, spontaneity, the pleasure of making something from nothing.
